Past Lives With Dolphins

I had only just been thinking about my framed dolphin pictures, dolphin ornaments, and other dolphin memorabilia – all packed away until we get a bigger home, there isn’t anywhere to display them.

According to the magazine article dolphins were worshiped in ancient Greece. The temple at Delphi was actually dedicated to a Dolphin God. Recently we have been rediscovering that dolphins are sentient souls with large, evolved brains. Although they cannot speak as such, they really do communicate.

I feel at ease and, in an indefinable way, at home, when dolphins are around. I now know when they are nearby before they appear. I dream after they leave ~ Virginia Coyle

My first encounter with dolphins was when I was about ten years old, on a family vacation. We were on a two week cruise organized by my grandmother. I found it all rather boring, and never felt that I fitted in with the kids activities on the cruise – mostly because I was constantly teased for being ‘porky’.

Instead I would wait for whenever the dolphins would be close to the ship. I felt as if I connected with these graceful creatures of the ocean more than any of the humans sailing the seas. My father said they were really porpoises, but I knew they were dolphins.

In later years, during regression therapy with my mentor, I recalled a lifetime in which I was performing some kind of hands on healing work in a hospital-type setting, which was underwater in a tunnel-like structure. I somehow sensed that dolphins were a significant part of that existence, and that I regularly interacted with them. My mentor described this as “life in Atlantis”… the forgotten city. It therefore made sense that I felt such an affinity with these gentle creatures in this lifetime.

A few years later, I was having my first aura-soma color reading. The therapist emphasized how the color combinations in my aura indicated that I have brought in much knowledge and wisdom from at least one Atlantis incarnation. She also interpreted from her color combination reading how I would have a significant link to the dolphins.

Later still, whilst doing aromatherapy on one of my regular clients, I had a remarkable experience. For reasons beyond her control, the client brought along her six year old niece. As my client relaxed to the healing oils and meditative music, her niece stared out of the full length patio window, mesmerized and fixated on the ocean. In the most eerie way, she began rocking backwards and forwards, which under normal circumstances would have required exceptional balance.

Dolphin can lead us to an understanding of how to live in harmony with the twin needs of individuality and cooperation. Dolphin carries balance, peace, joy, compassion, love, and power ~ Loren Cruden

Whilst doing the aromatherapy, we watched the little girl for about 20 minutes. She seemed almost catatonic. My client kept calling her, until she came around from what seemed a trance-like state. My own research and mentor’s opinion suggested that she was also recalling her past life with dolphins. He was completely familiar with the description I gave of this unusual occurrence, and it made so much sense. It was as if she was a mermaid, or a dolphin who’d taken on human form in this lifetime, but still had recollection of her life at sea with the other dolphins. It was as if “she was being called to join them,” my mentor said.

Eventually, I got to swim with the dolphins quite by chance, whilst enjoying a ten day stop-over for work in the Maldives. They swam up to me closer than I would have expected, and to say it was a magical experience would be an understatement. It was such an honor to share their sacred space with these loving souls. Many people write about how their own personal dolphin encounters have been a life-changing emotional, physical and spiritual experience, not to mention those documented cases where great healing has taken place with special needs children.

Dolphins show us that life can be more connected with joy and fun, no matter how difficult challenges may seem. Dolphins are symbolic of enthusiasm, intelligence and playfulness. Scientists assume dolphins survive using their right brain hemisphere, which explains their harmonious relationship with their environment and playfulness. We can learn so much from them with their extraordinary communicative and psychic abilities.
