Communication Is Key To Long-Term Love
It is so important to always keep the lines of communication open. Without it our relationships will not grow. I cannot stress enough how essential this is. It is the foundation, as it allows us to share our interests, to organize our lives and to make the best decisions.
Working together is the way we talk and listen to each other, not at each other. Always be clear about what you want, and need to say, so that your partner hears it accurately and understands you, and does not get any mixed signals. Share positive feelings, tell them how much they are appreciated and admired, and how important they are to you.

Listening is also very important. A good listener can encourage their partner to feel comfortable enough to keep the lines of communication open. When together, always keep eye contact, show that you are interested and concerned. Some people find it difficult to express their emotions, especially after being hurt in prior relationships. They have a trust issue that can take some time to overcome, because it is often the things that we cannot talk about that hurt the most.
Relationships are ever-changing. They go through a life cycle: first the honeymoon, then children, the mid-life crisis and finally the empty nest syndrome. Then the period of getting reacquainted follows, or the death of a spouse, or the ending of the relationship. If one, or both parties in the relationship becomes resistant to the needed changes, it probably will end in divorce. That would be because they were unable, or unwilling to meet the needs and demands to keep the relationship growing.
Change and growth is a must. It is part of who we are and we have to be able to compromise if one person always gets their way, while the other feels resentment and frustration. Negative feelings can rip the heart right out of you. You have to find a happy middle ground that can give you the best of both worlds, both giving and receiving.
Everyone needs room to breathe, to sort out feelings, emotions, thoughts. Space gives you clarity when you feel you need it most.
Communication is the solvent of all problems, therefore communication skills are the foundation for personal development ~ Peter Shepherd
Communication is however the main key. You cannot be walking on eggshells every time you need to say something to your partner about how you truly feel. We all need to be heard. Always be open with your heart. Sometimes being honest isn’t always easy to do, but it is so necessary in order to have a healthy relationship.
No matter what it is, talking freely about everything, no matter how big or small, is vital. And honesty is always the best policy. It is crucial to know that you don’t just communicate with words, you also have to show it with your actions. Actions do speak louder than words. Words can be meaningless if they are not met with proof. Show your love how you feel: a touch on the arm, a look, and a smile to reassure. Having and keeping a relationship is not easy, but if you have love and patience through it all, nothing is impossible.
