My Mini Miracle
Last week, a long awaited small miracle happened at my home. For some I guess this happening wouldn’t have been a big deal, but I was over the moon. I have worked non-stop on manifesting this, despite the odds and negative expectations of so called well-meaning people.
Approximately 18 months ago, a stray dog we’ve since named Brutus, began joining us on walks and came to the fence for treats. It was only because of his love for our other dogs that he finally entered onto the property at all. He was terrified of us humans. A subsequent psychic reading I had done on him, by a reputable animal communicator colleague, described how he’d been abused in a small shed as a young pup.

Brutus was about ten months old when he came through our outside entrance, following the other dogs. He chose to sleep outside in the bushes, despite the bitterly cold winter we were having then. We tries every trick in the book to get him under some kind of cover, but he was terrified. He always looked up nervously when there was any kind of a roof or overhang above him.
We even had vets come out, who tried different types of powerful sedation, in order to at least get a protective collar on him. Here in Spain, there is an awful disease which dogs can contract from flies during certain summer months. In each incident, just as the attending vet thought Brutus was sleepy enough to approach, he’d jump up and get away – as ‘street-wise’ as ever.
It took Brutus many more months to muster up the courage to climb the 16 steps onto our veranda. For his second winter here, we built up a sort of shelter with cement blocks, either side of the front double doors, and made him a bed to give him at least some kind of protection from the elements. However, when the winds and freezing rain blew in, he took to the bushes once more.
In another couple of months it will be cold again here in Europe, so hopefully we can give him the warmth and shelter he so deserves this winter. Perhaps we will be warmer too, because last winter we slept with the front doors open and kept the home fires burning all night so that Brutus could at least get some warmth close to the house.

I see this as a miracle, because many people gave me negative views, saying Brutus would probably stay wild. Even my husband was just about to give up on Brutus, especially considering that we might be moving soon. The moral of the story is never to give up. I remained persistent in my animal communication with Brutus, although at times I was also becoming despondent.
Among other things on my vision board, Brutus has remained there and the wording I used as an affirmation is: “Brutus is an inside dog, he has joined the family.”
A miracle is referred to as “a phenomenon which defies the laws of nature.” A Course in Miracles states, “Miracles are natural. When they do not occur something has gone wrong. Miracles occur naturally as expressions of love. The real miracle is the love that inspires them. In this sense everything that comes from love is a miracle. A miracle is never lost. It may touch many people you have not even met, and produce undreamed of changes in situations of which you are not even aware. Miracles represent freedom from fear.”
Brutus is my mini miracle.
