Living Under The Mushroom?
Are you living under the mushroom? This is not necessarily a bad thing, depending what your expectations are. In order to live in the Light we must make an effort of some kind to come out from under the mushroom. Nothing much grows in the shadows.
Living in the Light? What does that mean? Does it mean we will no longer gossip about the neighbors, focus less on the negative aspects of life, stop finding fault with others, and never expect bad things to happen to us? Probably not.
What “living in the Light” does mean is that we strive to accept and understand the motives of others, and that we allow some leeway when dealing with faulty human beings, especially considering the fact that we are personally also one of those “faulty souls”. We also choose to expect good things.
Do not live in the shadow of the masters for ever. Learn to live in the light of your soul. Life deserves full expression ~ Amit Ray
It might not seem that way at first, but it is much easier to live on top of the mushroom, rather than under it. When we live in the Light we get to experience the warmth of the Sun on our faces, and feel the soft caress of the wind on our cheeks. We have closer contact with others when we live in the Light, as well as all the goodness that nature provides.
One knows firsthand when you are in the sphere of someone who is living under the mushroom. It is usually not a pleasant experience. You sometimes end up joining the shadow dweller in their complaints, judgments and fear mongering, when that was not your intention at all. Afterwards you may feel edgy or cranky, without really understanding why.
But when you come into the realm of those living in the Light, everything is quite different. You may find yourself smiling or even feeling a little giddy. You definitely experience joy and are much more able to call good things into being.
So, take your pick. Which would you prefer? Living under the mushroom or up there in the Light. How difficult could that choice be?
