The Astrological Influence Of Retrograde Planets

Click Here for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comWhen I was younger I enjoyed studying Astrology. I used to make birth charts for people, but I broke away from working as an astrologer, because I prefer to rely on my psychic gifts of clairvoyance and mediumship.

I do however, still believe that we are born with a certain fate or destiny – events and circumstances that will indeed happen in our lives. I believe that these things are astrologically set in our natal charts from birth.

But then, there are also the many changeable, free will aspects of our lives. This is one of the good reasons for having psychic readings done from time to time. Readings reveal potentialities and future outcomes, offering us the opportunity to improve on our current free will choices, and change potentially negative situations into a positive life experiences.

When I do a reading, it is not too unusual for a client to exclaim something like: “Woe is me, what a disaster! Mercury is in retrograde again. That is why everything is so messed up in my life right now.”

Well, it is true that the zodiac and the position of the planets in our solar system can have effects on our daily lives. A planet being in retrograde is one such an astrological phenomenon.

While some retrogrades may seem like nothing but bad news, each one offers us an opportunity to grow and learn something new about ourselves – once we’re done complaining about the retrograde, that is ~ Sarah Coughlin

Mercury Retrograde

The planet Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo and has an energetic influence on transportation, communication, healthcare, education, nutrition, public places and libraries. When Mercury is in retrograde you can expect, for example, transportation delays, dysfunctional mail service and miscommunications.

Try to not start any important new work projects, or major lifestyle and dietary changes at this time, as it could turn out to be chaotic or short-lived. On the up side, Mercury in retrograde is ma great time to clean and declutter your house.

Mercury retrograde can be an excellent time to take a step back and take stock of where you are in life, but don’t make any drastic changes until after the retrograde has ended.

The planet Venus rules the signs of Taurus and Libra and governs romance, love and friendship, as well as music and art.

When Venus goes into retrograde we must make an effort to avoid relationship conflicts, and also be tolerant of ill-mannered people. Try to smooth over personality clashes, for not everyone will get along at this time.

This is definitely not the time to get engaged or married, and wait until after the retrograde before you break up with your partner or file for divorce. On the positive side, this is a great time to work out problems in love and marriage relationships.

The next Venus Retrograde will be from May 13th to June 25th.

Mars Retrograde

The planet Mars rules Aries and governs physical activity and athletics, the military and weapons, and construction. Mars in retrograde can be violent and dangerous. For example, it can manifest as crimes of passion or extreme rage. Anger outbursts must be guarded against, because it can become misdirected.

Sometimes your physical energy can be low at this time. Be careful if you are following an exercise program and take some time to rest and relax. The planet Jupiter rules Sagittarius and influences travel, religion, financial investments, wealth, and gambling.

On the positive side, this is the time to maintain perspective.  Be sensitive to other people, but don’t become too charitable.  This is also the time to keep your diet pure, and to monitor your alcohol consumption.

Pluto Retrograde

Pluto rules the sign of Scorpio and governs law enforcement, crime, sexuality, death, and also disease, prisons and the afterlife.

Pluto in retrograde allows the underworld to gain some ground. It creates problems with policing and criminal justice, or the lack of it. Also incidents of government abuse and corruption can be revealed. One must also guard against infections and poor immune health during this time.

There can also be abuse of sexual freedom at this time. All of the negative aspects of promiscuity and sex addiction can become more prominent during this retrograde. Emotional security can be affected by fidelity in relationships.

On the positive note, this is a good period to realize how social groups can affect you negatively, and separate yourself.

This is also a great time for studying reincarnation. Having a past life regression session or mediumship reading, to connect with loved ones, can be very meaningful and vivid a this time.

Pluto is currently a planet in retrograde, since April 25th, and will turn direct again on October 4th. The month of October may therefore bode well for the global outcome of the current Covid-19 pandemic. Time will tell.
