Begin By Loving Yourself Unconditionally
The first person any of us learns to love is ourself. And that’s how it should be, even if many of us forget how to do that somewhere along the way. Yet, how can we expect to show love for anyone else if we do not first love ourselves?
So many of us think of love as an abstract “thing.” Love is not a thing; it’s an action! We need to make it a part of our conscious thought.
Also, we live in a culture which is harsh, judgmental, and narrow-minded, which causes so many of us to stop loving ourselves. Everyone has had a time when he or she felt less than, or imperfect. This becomes a snowball effect where we gradually put ourselves down all the time. But it doesn’t have to be this way, and unconditional love of self is the basis of all healthy relationships. How To Heal A Broken Heart
It can be very difficult to heal from a broken heart. It is no accident that there are so many sad songs written about lost love, and so many stories in magazines and on talk shows about failed love relationships. Many self-help experts proclaim they have the true answer to how to heal a broken heart.
I know from personal experience that it can be one of the hardest things in life to understand and overcome. When I had my heart broken, I used music in healing process, because I could relate what the song was about. Is it possible for two people, who have been best friends for years, to fall in love? Can there be such a special bond or psychic connection between acquaintances? And after all the years of being best friends, do they have what it takes to ultimately experience the magic of love?
If a pair of friends have been sharing intimate thoughts and mutual hopes and desires, the chemistry is often there to begin with. There are usually also a good reason why these best friends never started to date. The main reason is typically due to timing or location, or they could be involved with someone else. Friends Or Lovers?
Many of my clients ask me if they should focus on the friendship aspect of their relationships if they want the relationship to go in the direction of marriage.
Does having a solid friendship foundation help, when you know that the person you just met can potentially be “the one” you will be spending the rest of your life with? Several people have told me how they jumped in with both feet, only to be let down later.
I always suggest trying to form a good friendship before taking it “undercover.” However, I also find that if the love cord connection is there, it sometimes doesn’t matter. I have seen with many clients that even they went straight to the ‘lovers mode’, before forming a good friendship, it didn’t affect the progression of their relationship. Continue reading
Patience Is The Key To Building Bridges
New relationships are not easy. Building that bridge between yourself and another person might get confusing, because of the past. When two people meet for the first time it can be very exciting for them both, and they will most likely have that ‘glow’ that is so bright around them. You can usually see a change both of them.
But as time goes by, it sometimes happens that one person begins to pull away, or pushes the other person away, because of their fears. They become anxious that what had happened to them in the past, might happen to them today. False hopes and broken promises are part of the baggage most of us carry into new relationships. Love Cord Connections Last An Eternity
When we truly love someone, we are eternally connected to that person – throughout all of our lifetimes. That love cord is never severed. No one, or nothing, not even the Archangel Michael can sever this cord with his sword.
It is true that love is the most powerful force and it is my belief that God is love. We get to bask in this blissful feeling in its entirety, which is much too much for our earthly minds to even comprehend. I do know that we get to taste a bit of it through the feelings we experience when we deeply love another person. It is our ‘taste of heaven’ here on earth and we can enhance the feeling through gratitude for that person that is in our lives. Is Your Partner Cheating?
In recent years I have been getting an increasing number of calls from married people wanting to know about another person they are interested in, or someone with whom they have been cheating on their spouse. In fact, I have several clients who are married, but are also dating and having sexual intimacy with people outside their marriage.
Interestingly, I get more calls from women than men who are cheating. Often times I see that the person they are having the affair with is much more compatible with them, compared to their current spouse. I never judge, my clients who call with such questions have always commented to me how they love how I don’t judge, or lecture them, or voice my personal opinion.
