Spiritual Chills

click here for a free psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comShivers and goosebumps are two of the human body’s responses to temperature changes or certain emotions. We inherited this physical response from our primal ancestors. When they were cold, the hair on their bodies would raise up to create better insulation, and when they were threatened their hair would stand up to look bigger and stronger to their attacker. Each hair standing up causes the skin to contract, which explains the goosebumps we get, which looks like poultry skin! The shivers or tingling sensation down our spine is due to a release of adrenaline in the body in response to a perceived threat.

Normal shivers and goosebumps can be caused by various things, including illness and fever, disturbing events or conversations, watching horror movies, the touch of someone, an icy breeze or wind, or swimming in cold water. However, sometimes shivers and goosebumps can also be experienced due to metaphysical or supernatural activity. I call these ‘spiritual chills’ since they have no physical cause, but they still make you feel an icy chill up and down your spine, or even goosebumps over your entire body.

Opening Your Third Eye

click here for a free reading at PsychicAccess.comThe Third Eye has been known since ancient times to be a gateway to psychic ability. It is known in the psychic field for its role in deep intuition and spiritual clarity.

Many experts further associate the pineal gland, a tiny organ in the brain, next to the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland, with the Third Eye. Biologically, this gland serves a number of essential functions, from circadian rhythms to the regulation of hormones.

We can maximize this tiny, but critical part of our spiritual being, by ‘opening’ and activating the Third Eye completely. Some experts believe that detoxification, specifically from calcium phosphate, is necessary to awaken its higher functions. Calcium phosphate is a chemical found in many of the foods we eat, as well as associated with fluoride found in drinking water.

Over time, as the pineal gland becomes calcified, we lose the ability to see the world as it truly is – unified with the spirit realm. It is the spiritual equivalent of a pair of glasses with scratched or clouded lenses. Eating a nourishing, beneficial assortment of foods, as well as drinking purified water, will help to rid the body of the toxins that has accumulated in the pineal gland and therefore clouds the Third Eye. A variety of organic supplements and essential oils, when added to an improved diet, can also speed the process.

Crow Medicine

click here for a free reading at PsychicAccess.comCrows often appear to me when I am about to make a significant change in my life. I recently moved to a nicer place, and a group of crows appeared outside my new home, signifying this was not the only change to come.

Crows also represents being adaptable, malleable and, of course, flexible. We are generally resistant to change, but change is the only constant in this life. When seeing crow in your personal surroundings, know it is time to change your thinking and perception about your current life circumstances. Sometimes we cannot see the forest beyond the trees.

Crow medicine teaches us to focus on the ‘bigger picture.’ Look at the whole story, instead of the worrying so much about the details.  Leave the details to the Universe. It usually does turn out better than we had imagined!

Birds also act as messengers from Heaven. A bird showing up unexpectedly in your life is perhaps a loved who has crossed over and is wanting your attention. I remember one time it was my great grandmother whom I inherited my psychic, mediumship and healing abilities from.

Checking In With Yourself

click here for a free psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comIn today’s hustle-and-bustle, busy world there is sometimes the need to slow down and take break. Take a moment to say hello to yourself. Do a check in. Catch up with you. As a wise man once told me, “You must start by starting!” Quite so, because it makes things much more confusing if we think about it too much.

The best time to begin your day is the previous night, when you go to bed. What’s your current practice before going to sleep? Have you gotten your clothes ready for the next day? That is a handy practice that many people do. Have you gotten your soul ready as well? That is truly where to begin.

Saying hello to your soul is a powerful healing tool. Doing it consistently, just like having coffee or tea in the morning, brings you closer to yourself and takes you to a higher perspective. By you treating yourself kindly, it spreads outward. As you heal yourself, so shall you heal others.

A Few Minutes Of Daily Self-Care

click here for a free psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comI often tell my students to take some ‘me time’ each day, even if it’s only five minutes for self-care. And I have heard 101 excuses as to why someone cannot do this, ranging from parenting responsibilities and career, to house cleaning and maintenance. These excuses typically start with the words, “I have to…”

At one workshop, I had several people offer their excuses for not having even  a few minutes for themselves on a daily basis.  Then I narrowed it down to a simple question. When you have to go to the washroom, do you hold it in all day long, and all night, because you ‘have to’ do something else?  After the laughter stopped, because I did do an exaggerated imitation of someone ‘holding it’ by rolling on the floor in agony!

And then I asked the next question. By holding it all day and night, and writhing in pain and agony, what did I accomplish?  How much time did I waste focusing on this issue of ‘I have to go,’ but ‘I don’t have time.’

This is the simplest way to explain time management versus wasted energy and time. I take a bath or shower each day, as do most people. I am usually at least a few minutes under the water in some way. Water is my peacemaker and my calming force. It energizes me and charges me for the day.

When Your Inner Guidance Loses Direction

click here for a free psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comNo matter where you are in life, you are never without direction. Within each of us dwells a special voice that serves as a compass. This instrument of higher direction is always poised to guide us, especially when we need it the most.

Some call this inner guidance intuition or a sixth sense. It has been written about in the sacred texts of multiple faith traditions, and is often described as a special gift that some are born with or develop through life, when one’s belief in the celestial realm is augmented by a deep faith. For some this gift is also said to be cultivated over time through diligent metaphysical practice and study.

Whatever the origin is for intuition, we can affirm that this manifestation is a gift from a realm of higher consciousness that is accessible in the here and now. We can also rejoice in knowing that each of us has a capacity to tap into this amazing ability to guide ourselves, and each other.

Dirty Little Secrets

click here for a free reading at PsychicAccess.comSo many of us have secrets. Some sneak food, others drink alcohol, or they have a sugar habit, can’t have an orgasm, or they are depressed. More interestingly, in my experience, some people in the helping, motivation, exercise, or spiritual industry often have more secrets than most. They keep these secrets, because they have more to lose. If they are supposed to be selling a service or product that ‘works’… appearances matter (perhaps even more than the practice they sell).

Furthermore, people love to worship their idols and gurus… who are sometimes frail and imperfect humans themselves. We create heroes who in turn create themselves. Some of these ‘heroes’ come close to revealing themselves, most are only revealed after their death. In truth, we have no idea what other people are really going through in their lives. Nor do we typically want to know. Instead we prefer to worship some ideal. This helps us to further self-criticize, because we are not that ideal like them. And this in turn encourages everyone to keep more secrets.
