Do It Anyway
Recently, I posted on social media about my daughter’s graduation, when she was awarded a degree in Psychology with high honors from a well-known university. I was really proud of her, and wanted to share it with the world.
Many friends and family commented on the post, with congratulatory excitement and kind remarks. But later that day, I noticed there was also a hurtful comment on that same post from my mother.
In the post I had misspelled the words summa cum laude and my mother’s comment read, “Ask your daughter how to spell summa cum laude.” That was it. It seemed short and cold. My heart sank. Not only from the public embarrassment of her comment, but more so from the insinuation that I lack intelligence. Continue reading
Intuitive Children – Moving Beyond Labels
Children are naturally intuitive beings. They are born spiritually aware. We are all born with psychic ability, but as we grow up much of this ability tends to be lost by the time we reach adulthood.
As a parent or caregiver, it is important to nurture a child’s psychic gifts without labeling them. Labels such as “highly gifted,” or “Indigo,” or “Crystalline,” are descriptive, but may also harm the child’s psychic development.
Sometimes it’s tempting to place labels on children or guide them toward a path that may not even be right for them. Instead, adults need to take this spiritual journey along with their children. Encourage them to pursue their intuitions, and don’t try to discount or dismiss as ‘imaginary’ what they may tell you. Intuitive children are extremely sensitive to their environment, and they don’t miss a thing…even those things adults may not be able to perceive. Offering a permissive, open arena is key. Traits Of Your Pisces Child
A child born February 19th to March 20th is a Pisces. They are daydreamers. This helps them become the actors, writers, poets and innovators of the world. It is good to help your child balance this by helping them to stay in reality and remain grounded.
Pisces children are extremely intuitive, often psychic. Teach your Piscean to trust their intuition, but also to filter what they tell others. Not all visions should be shared.
They also tend to be empaths. Like most empaths, they may feel tired, sad or overwhelmed and may not know why. They may have been picking up others emotions. Teaching coping methods for these times is essential. We don’t want our Pisces children not to be empathic, as that is all of our natural state, but we don’t want them to be energy sponges, carrying around other people’s trauma. Every parent thinks their child is special and gifted. In fact, all children are born with some degree of psychic ability, and some keep it throughout their lives. How can we tell, and what is the best course of action, when we find a psychic child in our midst?
The main reason people lose psychic ability as they age is because of some grown-up or authority figure dismissing these very real gifts as their imagination or ‘make-believe.’ Children don’t know what is real or not, and when they are blessed with psychic gifts, they will believe… even if you don’t.
Though you may not understand, it’s important not to dismiss the child with statements like, “It’s only your imagination,” or “Stop, you’re scaring me!” The more a child hears negative statements about their extra-sensory or paranormal experiences, the more they will associate their psychic gifts with shame, anger, humiliation, or sadness. Imagine for a moment that you have a radio, and instead of tuning in to a single stations, all of the stations are playing at once. That’s what life sometimes feels like to a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) – a designation coined by psychologist Dr. Elaine Aron, which indicates someone whose senses are more attuned than normal to the stimuli around them. The word “empath” is sometimes used to describe highly sensitive people, and other groups, such as those on the autism spectrum.

Talking To The Animals
I am often contacted for psychic readings about animals: missing cats, dogs present and past, sick horses and, even that brutal question as to whether it would be kinder to end an ailing animal’s suffering. Today, just such a request came in from a long-standing client, asking me to communicate with her little doggie, Patches.
She needed to know if Patches wanted to continue, or whether he preferred to be released from his physical discomfort and allowed to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. She knew he wasn’t feeling well, and yet, the veterinarians have been unable to diagnose his problem. It’s one of the most heart-wrenching requests I have been faced with in some time.
I sat quietly and envisioned Patches in my mind’s eye. He kept showing me the number 12. Before going further, I contacted Patches’ owner, and asked her the meaning of the 12. He is twelve years old, my client responded. Although the ultimate decision will be my client’s, I felt this was a subliminal message from Patches – his planned life span was to be here for 12 years. Taking Better Care Of Empaths
Do you deeply and intensely feel the emotions of others, easily get sick or injured, and have a natural connection to all things spiritual? There’s about a one-in-five chance that you may be an empath.
Being an empath is different from someone who merely feeling empathy for others. The difference is being someone who is able to turn off the flood of emotions, against someone who is not. What a difference! A true empath literally feels everything, and that can be overwhelming.

They may need more solitary time or exposure to the natural world than other people.
