I was in the kitchen today at work, to get some tea, and I bumped into one of my co-workers. She seemed a bit frustrated at first with the kettle taking so long, and then she laughed and said: “A watched pot never boils”.

I had a small epiphany at that moment and thought what a great metaphor that is for ‘controlling’ things in our lives. So many times in life we try to control the outcome of things, even when we are trying to manifest our hearts’ desire. It is a bit of an oxymoron really, because if we had the tools to get the outcome we desired, we would have it already.

When putting our desires out to the universe it is important to put some quality time into it. Visualize and wonder what it will feel like when your manifestation finally comes to you. What would you be doing? What would your emotions be like? What would you be thinking? What would others around you be thinking? Make it real, if only for a few minutes a day. So many times clients come to me in a state of mind of utter chaos or anxiety. When spirit starts dissecting their many issues it often turns out that a person is worried about something that may or may not even happen.

There is an ancient Native belief that worrying about anything is like borrowing trouble from the future. Why do we do this? Why do we surround our lives with ‘what if’s’ and unnecessary worry?

One day, while I was having one of my ‘what if’ episodes, my son said to me once (the children of today are so wise): “Mom, a what-if-life is half-a-life!” He is so right.

Staying in the moment isn’t always the easiest thing to achieve, but if we can get the hang of it, it truly is the best place to be. Read the rest of this entry »

Maybe it’s always been this way, but I am noticing in the last few months that spirit is giving many of my clients the advice about finding something that ignites their creativity.

Is creativity the next step in your personal spiritual development?  It could be writing, drawing, music, dancing, anything really that makes your heart sing.

I think creativity is a little different than passion. Passion is something we are pulled towards. It is a drive within us. This creativity spirit I’m feeling is something different. In my wonderful life I have had many an experience where I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that the person I’m talking to is not from Earth, but an Angel or Messenger sent from Spirit.

On these occasions you are with someone, or you see someone, and you know that there is something strange about them. Their energy seems different; the way they are looking at people seems different; their clothes are different.

Once I was on the train, back in my commuting days, and suddenly everything seemed to slow down and I felt this wonderful energy around me. I thought I had fallen asleep, but I had not. I heard very clearly from Spirit “an Angel is coming to you”. Then the energy returned to normal. I thought to myself “that was nice” and went about my merry way, doing whatever I was doing. Being a psychic for many years, I have noticed that the one thing that is very strong in peoples’ lives is patterns. These patterns go undetected as people go through their lives with rose-colored glasses, creating their future from preconceived events from their past.

All of this is easy for a psychic to see, but it is hard for someone who is trapped in the situation and trying to get through the same life lesson over and over again.

Psychic or not, no one is exempt from this. It is just the Universe’s way of getting us to where we have to go. I remember when I was still working in the corporate world; I would always attract very aggressive women into my life that would want to control me or others. Some of the most frequently asked questions I get as a psychic is “Where is my soulmate?” or “Is this the person that is meant to be in my life?” There is always doubt in this kind of question.

That being said, we are all striving for a relationship that makes our heart sing and makes us feel like we are safe. We all need someone who will accept us unconditionally, without us having to be someone we are not.

The problem sometimes is that when we are in a relationship we see the present through the eyes of our past and this makes all sorts of chaos happen. We need to let go and realize that we are exactly where we are meant to be at any given moment. Sometimes clients want to know how to get back someone from their past, or how get someone to love them. I always answer with what someone wise once told me: “If it’s meant to happen no one can stop it and if it’s not meant to happen no one can make it happen”. Simple really. Have you ever had a dilemma and it has been running around in your mind for days and you can’t seem to get it sorted?

Something like that happened to me the other day and no matter what modality I tried, it just persistently kept up its thunderous beating in my head, wanting my attention. Logically, I knew that there must be an easy answer, but I just couldn’t get to it.

When ranting about the problem to a wise Zen-like friend the answer came when she turned around and simply said : “Well, then it gives you an opportunity to experience the grace of forgiveness.” Her soft simple wisdom hit me like a ton of bricks and it reminded me of a book that I was reading, titled Power vs. Force by David Hawkins. Suddenly, I knew what the book was trying to teach me!  I knew all of this, but to feel it so strongly was such a gift.
