What is a psychic?

Webster defines a psychic as “one who exhibits extreme mental phenomena; pertaining to the human soul, spirit or mind; the science of the mind”.

People say:  fortune teller, guru, seer, mystic, sensitive, medium.

Dr. Rachel says:  I am a catalyst for self-healing and positive life changes.  I give my clients solutions to their issues, not just putting a band-aid on the matter.  My spiritual purpose in life is to bring the highest and purest truth possible to the conscious mind and to assist people in developing their own God given abilities to attain happiness, peace and harmony.

My life began as any other human being; but then I began to notice something about my perception of reality.  I recall telling my Mother at age 5 that I could ‘see’ air and colors swirling around people and objects.  My first vivid experience happened when I overslept for school.  I ‘heard’ a female voice whisper “Sylvia, it’s time to get up for school; you are late”.  Note:  it was not my Mother’s voice as she was downstairs in the kitchen.  I was so excited to tell the nun at school that my guardian angel talked to me.  She embarrassed me in front of my classmates and said I was ‘crazy and cuckoo’. At the end of your day, do you ever feel like you got up on the ‘wrong side of the bed”? Well, you probably did. Here are some suggestions to make the best of your day.

1. Each morning, before you go to work, do some sighing. Just sigh in different pitches, until you reach a higher pitch. The vibration of your sighing will put you in a higher and more positive place.

2. Try chanting.

3. Meditate or just spend some quiet time thinking about what you want your day to be like. That grouchy boss? Well, ignore him and concentrate on you being happy and unaffected by him.

4. Do deep breathing. Really expand your chest and inhale through your nose, then expel through your mouth, seeing light coming in when you inhale, and all the negative stuff going out. Read the rest of this entry »

My experience with counseling clients has brought a lot of dynamic information as to the human psyche. What makes us tick?  What are our motivations for what we think, say and do?

Let’s begin by going back to your childhood. What was your relationship with your parents like? Examine your relationship with your friends, teachers, and neighbors. Was your home environment warm and loving or was there arguing and fights?  Did you experience bullying at school?

Here is a fact. Everything you have ever heard, seen, felt, tasted, spoken are in your Akashic records, or your soul book.  The key to all these experiences is how you process them. For example, the Brown family consists of a father, mother and two children – one boy and one girl. Mr. Brown has had a hard life, growing up in a love-repressed family. He is a fireman. Mrs. Brown is a housewife. They are a middle class family, nice home, two cars, and are friendly and well liked by their neighbors. The parents have taught their children good morals, values and principles. In my work I occasionally connect with a client whom I sense has no purpose or direction in life.

Recently, I did a psychic reading for a young lady who was concerned about her marriage.  I instantly sensed that she was very isolated, had no friends and no outside interests. She acknowledged to me that this was very true. So, I told her what her talents were and suggested she start using them.

After a few minutes, I could sense the ‘lift’ in her energy.  She realized she was not fulfilling her life purpose, while instead she was always worrying about what her husband was doing, or not doing. She thanked me profusely and left very positive feedback.

She reminded me of a time years ago when I was age 20. I distinctly recall at that time asking myself many similar questions. Is this all life is about – cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my family? Why was I born? Isn’t there something else I should be doing, or contributing to the world? Read the rest of this entry »

In our profession, we are often called upon to discern, or predict the future. We are asked to analyze what events will occur.

I have concluded that there are two types of scenarios. One is free will, which is based on the person’s right to take path A or path B. This occurs by the choices that we make. For example, a client may ask “should I take that new job in San Francisco, or remain where I am presently employed?” I will analyze and confer with my spirit guides to see which is the best decision, for what I term ‘their highest good’. I must look at all potential scenarios for my client. Will the new job be beneficial to my client? Will she prosper there? Will she be happy in the new area?

But this analysis of my client’s question becomes a bit complicated when my guides tell me the soul path is involved.  The soul path means choices that are made by the soul prior to its incarnation. For each soul comes into this dimension of Earth to grow and evolve, not as a human, but as a soul. Read the rest of this entry »

Recently I reflected on the many kinds of weapons in the world.  Atomic bombs, guns, rifles, A-K 47s, submarine missiles, anti-war craft missiles, ballistic missiles. The list seems endless.

In my life on this great Earth, I have come to the realization that there is one weapon which every human being possesses. It is the tongue.

The tongue can destroy a person’s reputation, cause others to question the sincerity of a man or woman, cause a fellow co-worker to lose their job, pit neighbor against neighbor. Our tongues can destroy a good deed and turn it into something vicious and untrue. Someone once said that before you say something about someone or something, ask yourself this: what purpose will it serve to verbalize my thoughts?  If your answer is not one hundred percent positive, don’t say it! Many people I have met over the years have asked me if everyone has psychic ability. My answer has always been, “Yes, absolutely!”

The scholar, Aristotle, first spoke of the term metaphysics.  Simple defined it means anything that cannot be proven or validated by the five senses. The sixth sense is built into each soul.

Think of being psychic as your failsafe system. It can forewarn you of pending dangerous situations or people. You can avoid many unpleasant situations in life by trusting your inner voice. Have you ever noticed how psychic some children are? They ask very deep questions and make profound statements; showing their uncanny ability to ‘know’ or sense a coming event or make clear and accurate analyses of people and places. How do they do this? Simple. They are tuning into their sixth sense. In my 45 years of mediumship and spiritual counseling, this question has been frequently asked by my clients.

When a client presents this kind of question, I intuitively analyze if their partner is in harmony with them. I do not look at someone being ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ for the client, but rather I examine if they have similar values, morals and standards; and most importantly, do both people have the same goals.

For example, I would ask Spirit if you both want marriage or a committed relationship. And if the answer to that question is a ‘no’, then you may want to move on. Oh yes, you may be saying to yourself that he may change his mind. But how much time do you want to invest in waiting for that day to arrive? Best to set a time limit on that aspect.
