Spirit communicates with us in many ways. All we need to do to open to this beneficial and life-affirming relationship is to set the intention to communicate and ask to work more closely with our Spirit Team. This allows them to work around the Law of Free Will, which states that we have the right to choose the direction and terms of our lives.

Once we ask, our team goes to work on our behalf in any situation in our lives, whether it is finding a parking spot at the mall or discovering our life purpose, and everything in between.

The key to communicating with Spirit is to be aware of the language it uses. Spirit communicates with us in two ways, externally and internally. External communication comes in the forms of signs and synchronicities. Signs come in many forms: they can be a book falling off the shelf that we are supposed to read; or finding feathers or pennies after asking our Angels a question; or overhearing a conversation that answers a prayer in our heart.

Synchronicity, on the other hand, is more about tapping into the flow of Spirit. With synchronicity just the right people and opportunities flow in to our lives at just the right time.  Working with and looking for synchronicities allow our lives to flow with the grace and magic of Spirit.

Another way that Spirit communicates with us is through an internal dialogue. This involves the heightening of our physical senses, enabling us to reach up to the higher vibrating information inherent within Divine Guidance.

This internal communication is often referred to as the Four ‘Clairs’ and relies on our basic senses to deliver information from Spirit:

• Clairvoyance means ‘clear sight’ and involves Divine Guidance coming in through our visual senses. Examples of clairvoyance can be images seen internally through our mind’s eye, imagination or dreams, or externally through signs such as billboards, books, and other images that lead us like bread crumbs to our intended goals.

• Clairaudience means ‘clear hearing’.  This ‘clair’ involves auditory reception of messages from Spirit. Hearing a song on the radio or overhearing a conversation with pertinent information are examples of clairaudience.  Also hearing a seemingly disembodied voice in your ear or head that is not your own is another example of this mode of communication.

• Clairsentience means ‘clear feeling’. Messages through this ‘clair’ come in the form of gut feelings, ‘vibes’ or nudges. When something just feels ‘off’ or ‘right’ this is an example of Spirit communicating to us through our feelings.

• Claircognizance means ‘clear knowing’. We are using this channel when we ‘just know’ something. Inspired ideas and projects are also examples of this ‘clair.’

As with all of our Divine Messages, it is crucial to recognize how you feel when receiving the messages. Do you feel what I like to refer to as the “warm fuzzies” when you receive a piece of information? Does the guidance leave you feeling inspired, joyful, hopeful, loved and safe? Does the message show up in your life repeatedly, nudging you to take action? These are all indications that you are receiving Divine Guidance.

I like to think of psychic energy as akin to radio waves. Even without the radio on, the air is filled with invisible signals from countless radio stations operating on their various frequencies. All you have to do to receive them is to flick the radio on and tune the dial ~ John Edward

If you feel frightened or afraid when you receive messages, or the messages are guiding you to take action that would harm you or another, then this is not from Spirit. Messages from Source will always leave you feeling Loved and Inspired.

Once we learn the vocabulary that Spirit uses to communicate with us, both internally and externally, our whole world becomes infinitely connected with this powerful, loving energy. Every moment, opportunity and person that comes into our lives can now be viewed as portends, oracles and symbols for this Divine Communication. Our lives and the world become filled with magic, possibility and ripe with answers to our prayers. Play with it, have fun with it and enjoy the journey.
