We speak often about Karma; saying things like “what goes around comes around”. You know what I mean? Well, a friend shared a little story with me today, which I would now like to share with you.
One day a man sat down at the breakfast table with his family. His little daughter of six years spilled coffee, which also ended up on his clean white shirt. He immediately yelled at this daughter for being so clumsy, and then he yelled at his wife for putting the mug too close to the end of the table.
Every intention sets energy into motion Whether you are conscious of it or not ~ Gary Zukav
Running upstairs to change his shirt, he could hear his daughter crying. She was so upset she couldn’t even finish her breakfast. By the time he got back downstairs, his wife had to leave for work immediately and the daughter had by now missed the school bus. This made him even more angry.
He drove his daughter to school, now running late himself. Being in such a hurry he drove 60 miles per hour in a 30-zone and got a $120 speeding fine, which he tossed in the back seat. He then literally dumped his daughter at school, without even so much as a “goodbye”.
At work, the day went from bad to worse, it seemed everything he did was hurried and his mind was still seething from that morning.
His return home at the end of a long day was less than warm and welcoming. After all, he had berated both his wife and daughter, before even leaving the house.
Our entire lives are created from our emotional feeling state. This is the powerful energy that creates our reality ~ Melanie Tonia Evans
Now, let’s change the story around a bit. Let’s say that when his daughter had spilled the coffee that morning, he said instead, “no problem Honey, we’ll just wipe it up, just try and be more careful next time”.
He could have then run upstairs to change his shirt and come down just in time to peer through the window and see his beautiful young daughter turn around and wave to him from the bus…with a smile.
His wife would then probably gives him a loving kiss goodbye, appreciating how well he handled the whole situation, and then they would both have gone off to work. No speeding ticket, no harsh words, no bad day.
Life throws situations at us, how we manage them is largely our own responsibility. What happened to him was not the daughter’s fault, nor the coffee or the speeding ticket.
Just another lesson on what energy you put out is what you will draw in. It is the choice on how we deal with things that can make a difference in the outcome of any situation.
