The True Beginning Of The Age of Aquarius

Get a free psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comThere is an on-going debate, varying opinions and much confusion about the Age of Aquarius and when it actually began. Let’s clear that up.

First of all, we need to understand the role of the Spring Equinox, which is also known as the Vernal Equinox. This is the moment each year when the Sun enters the first sign of the Zodiac as it traverses the Celestial Equator, Northbound, bringing longer days to the Northern Hemisphere. Quite simply, the Sun commences its annual pilgrimage through the twelve signs of the Zodiac, starting on March 20th every year, as the plane of the Earth’s Equator passes through the center of the Sun.

In the best of all possible worlds, humans could evolve during this phase into enlightened beings, able to link the best of science with the best of spirit in a Utopian paradise of freedom and justice for everyone ~ Lynn Hayes

Part of the confusion about the Age of Aquarius was created by the fact that the Vernal Equinox still occurs well within the constellation of Pisces. However, this is a reference to the constellations and not to the signs of the Zodiac or the great cycle of the Equinox (the precession of the Equinoxes). The constellations do not represent zodiacal positions or influences. They do, however, symbolize the meaning of the signs of the Zodiac.

The Great Cycle of the Equinox (the 25,868 Earth year Precession of the Equinoxes) refers to Earth’s gyratory cycle. The Earth gyrates like a spinning top, because the poles are flattened, causing the gravitational pull of the planets to be greater at the Equator. This causes the poles to rotate in a small circle. However, it takes the entire planet 25,868 years to complete this gyration. It is this cycle of the Earth’s gyration that causes the point at which the Sun crosses the Equator, at the time of the Vernal Equinox, to move very slowly backwards through the signs of the Zodiac.

The 25,868 year Precession of the Equinoxes therefore describes the backward movement of the Vernal Equinox through the constellations, which is completely separate from the Sun’s annual movement or pilgrimage through the twelve signs of the Zodiac, regulating our seasons. When dealing with a skeptic, who knows nothing about Astronomy or Astrology, invite them to wear a bikini North of New York in December. The skeptic is usually a man, but there are some silly women out there too.

So, what does all of this have to do with the Age of Aquarius? Just as the progression of your natal astrology precisely depicts each step in your journey during this lifetime, the Precession of the Equinoxes accurately describes our collective journey or evolution during that time. Now, the term ‘evolution’ carries a connotation of progress, but I see our evolution more in terms of a wave cycle. If you turn on the news, I am sure that you will agree that humankind is not necessarily improving.

Alternatively, we can say that we are improving in some ways, but declining in others. Think of it in terms of your own life. You might be improving yourself spiritually, but not necessarily improving your physical body. The human species is improving its technological capabilities, but are we using them well to become closer to spirit? Or is the human species collectively now very divorced from deity?

When the Ages cross, your past shall be obsolete. It won’t work for you.  Your values won’t work, your methods and procedures won’t work, but in your memory of these teachings you will have the knowledge to cross the Age ~ Shanti Shanti Kaur

Now, remember that the Precession of the Equinoxes backwards, or clockwise, through the twelve signs of the Zodiac, describes our condition here on Earth. There is an undeniable correlation between the journey of humanity and this precession. The Zodiac forms a 360 degree circle, which means that each of the twelve signs covers 30 degrees. Since the Precession of the Equinoxes occurs over a 25,868 year period, the precession through each sign lasts, therefore, 2,156 years. As each sign of the Zodiac is always broken down in various different ways (decans, terms, and so forth) in Astrology, we can easily drill down to greater degrees of granularity within humankind’s journey. More about that another time.

This means that the starting point of Aquarius is 30 degrees backwards from the beginning point of Aries. Why? Because Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and it is preceded by the sign of Pisces which is preceded by the sign of Aquarius. Remember that the precession moves backwards, or clockwise, through the Zodiac.

We have moved from the age of Christ (Fish) or the Age of Pisces (fish) to the Age of Aquarius. This progression symbolizes humanity’s development from the age of pure belief (Pisces) to the age of science and knowledge (Aquarius). During the age of Pisces, people simply believed what they were told to believe; their paradigm was constructed by the powers that be. We are now evolving towards understanding rather than pure belief. This does not mean that Christ did not exist. Neither does it mean that our understanding is now free and unrestricted. Knowledge is hoarded in order to control people and their paradigm. Hence the proverb “knowledge is power.”

Interestingly, we also shifted from travel by sea to travel by air. This reflects the transition from the water sign Pisces to the air sign Aquarius.

So when did the Age of Aquarius begin? We actually entered this era back in 1881, when science began making enormous advances. Note that the age of Aquarius is ruled by Uranus and Saturn. Uranus is symbolic of inventions, breakthroughs, eureka moments, higher thinking, Astrology and electricity. And sure enough, electricity has been used as a source of power since 1881.

And so you have it! The Age of Aquarius dates back to 1881. And this, my friend, is why the Grand Gallery of the Great Pyramid at Giza contains 1881 pyramidal inches.
