For most people the rule of thumb for choosing a psychic seems to be accuracy. Again and again, over the years, I have asked clients why they had chosen me to read for them, and the majority of time the response has always been, “Because your reviews reflect a high level of accuracy.”
I understand the logic behind the choice, but is it really that simple? Over time, some clients would drift away, while others would continue reading with me, sometimes for years. So, obviously there was something more, something deeper to the connection than just my level of accuracy.
The second deciding factor for clients appears to be referral, or word-of-mouth. If a friend had a great reading with a particular psychic, understandably one would be moved to check the psychic out for yourself. Yet, there still seemed to be something more in the mix, something that I could not put my finger on.
Go to your bosom; knock there, and ask your heart what it doth know… ~ William Shakespeare
The only way I could get any clarity or insights with regard to people’s choice of psychics, was to refer the situation back to my own life. I took a good accurate look at what I could remember of the psychics I had chosen to read with over a 30 year expanse of my life. I was trying to find out if my choices were intuitive, or even random, or if I had given them deep thought. And if so, what was the criteria with which I decided to work with a particular psychic, or not.
In conclusion, I found that my choice of psychics over the years actually had very little to do with their level of accuracy. Oh, maybe a friend might have referred a particular psychic to me, but that referral had nothing to do with why I continued to do repeat readings with a particular psychic, sometimes for years, or even decades.
This was an eye opener for me, as I had thought I had a much more logical approach to choosing a person with whom I would be sharing the intimacies of my life. I found that there was a determining thread that ran through all my choices to continue with a particular psychic, and it had nothing to do with their accuracy or who had referred them to me. I found that the people I had worked with over the years were chosen because of two qualities they possessed. One was their level of compassion or empathy, and the other was how much I could trust them. This I judged by the amount and depth of sincerity they were sharing and communicated to me in our readings. Without fail, the qualification of accuracy would come in as a pale third ingredient in the mix.
All these years, I had been on the hunt for a psychic whom I felt had the most open heart. Psychics who demonstrated that they truly care. It was not a perfect blueprint of the predictions of my future that I was looking for. Instead I was looking for someone genuine, someone who really cared, who was fully present when communicating with me and someone who went the extra mile to open their heart and to reach mine. Therein lies all the difference.
Your heart knows not how to lie. It is great that it lays deep in your chest and not in your mouth ~ Kak Sri
Why? Because I had found, over the years, that the reader who honestly cared about the person they were doing the reading for was creating the perfect platform for trust. The deeper the trust ran, the deeper my questions would run. The deeper my questions would run, the closer we would get to the answers I really was looking for.
There would be no generalities. Together we would be able to pinpoint exactly what it was that I needed to target, what I really wanted to know. If the reader’s heart was open, it would negate any fears that I might have about feeling vulnerable, about exposing the most intimate secrets of my heart, my deepest desire, passions and dreams. If I could trust this person, then I could get to the core of what I really needed to know.
When I do psychic readings, I work from the heart chakra or heart area. I deliberately move my consciousness into my heart. The best way I can describe is that it feels like I am ‘thinking’ from my heart. Once I am here, my intent is to unite the energy of my heart to the energy of the heart of the client. When I feel this connection, I ask the question…..and the answer will come in words, visions, perceptions and intuitions.
The key is that this whole process is based on trust. If the client doesn’t trust me, then I can’t feel the connection with them in my heart. Hence the response can be inaccurate. If there is any fear in the process, any fear felt in my heart or the client’s, it can throw the process off.
Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn’t, it is of no use ~ Carlos Castaneda
Now, the other process that a psychic reader may use is to run the information through the mind. I don’t do this as I feel there is far too much room for inaccuracy this way. The mind of both the reader and the client always have what I call ‘free floating fear.’ I’ve had spiritual friends say to me, “That just isn’t true, I have cleared the fear out of my life, I don’t live with fear.”. Maybe so, but each and every one of us, if we are still living in a body, are connected to the collective consciousness, and the collective consciousness is integrated with fear.
Fear is part of the human condition. Granted some of us carry less fear than others, but we all have downloaded our fair share, as it is part of the fabric of ‘form.’ The key is to not believe the fear, but to see it for its illusory nature. We need to know it can’t do us harm, unless we give it power to do so.
The bottom-line is that choosing the best psychic for you should be based on their trustworthiness, and how open their heart is. This has worked perfectly for me over the years. When choosing your reader, choose one that ‘feels’ right to you, regardless of their reputation for accuracy, or the success they may have had in reading for friends or relatives. Your own heart will tell you if this is the right psychic for you.
