Many spiritual seekers are looking for some sort of evidence of past lives, or an afterlife. Many of us yearn for a way to recover from the spiritual amnesia that we are apparently born with. I believe we are born with clues into our past lives. These clues are so much a part of our daily lives, we simply overlook them.
Have you ever wondered where birthmarks come from? Or, if there is any link between birth defects and reincarnation? I’m not referring to the marks that are hereditary. I’m referring to those brown or red spots, also known as ‘strawberries’ or ‘angel kisses.’ These marks typically appear at birth. Some are located between the eyes, or on the neck, stomach or lower back, essentially anywhere.
Children who remember their past lives offer the most compelling evidence yet for reincarnation… when adults listen-really listen-to what the children are trying to say, their own understanding of spirit and of children are changed forever ~ Carol Bowman
And what about birth defects, developmental abnormalities, and even allergies, such as asthma? Or phobias that are inexplicably present in small children, such as fear of fire or heights, when these children have not experienced any trauma associated with these things. Could these marks and phobias be evidence of trauma from a past life? Some metaphysics and paranormal experts believe this just may be the case.
In parts of Asia, the tradition is routinely practice that when a person dies, a relative will mark the body with soot, with the hopes that the person will be reborn into the same family. The mark is said to become a birthmark in which the family members can identify the deceased. It is considered proof of an old soul being reborn. I can’t imagine this tradition lasting from generation to generation, if there wasn’t some real evidence to justify its validity.
I know from firsthand experience with my daughter that there is definitely something to it – at the very least something to consider.
From a very young age, around 15 to 18 months, my daughter became terrified of the police. If we were outside playing in the yard, or in the pool, and a police car drove by, my daughter would begin to cry, shake hysterically and insist on going in the house. There she would remain for the rest of the day.
She was also able to clearly differentiate between the police helicopter patrolling our neighborhood and other helicopters. She would panic when the police helicopters were flying overhead.
When she was a little over two years old, we had just returned from visiting my mother in another state. It was late when we finally made it home. Some teenagers up the street were having a party, and the police showed up. They were blocking the street, to break up the party. My daughter was terrified, she begged to go into the house. She refused to look at them, insisted that I lock all the doors, and proceeded to hide. This broke my heart.
If someone’s phobia is eliminated instantly and permanently by the remembrance of an event from the past, it seems to make logical sense that that event must have happened ~ Dr. Edith Fiore
While I was holding and comforting her, I asked why she was so afraid of the police. There was no apparent reason for her to act this way, since she had never come in contact with the police in any way? My two year old child then informed me that she had indeed come in contact with a police officer.
But, this she said, happened long before she came to me, when her name was Jessica. She saw something she was not supposed to see, and to keep her quiet, a cop named Lebrock*, struck her down. As she tried to crawl away, he shot her in the lower back, and as she turned to look back at him, he shot her in the forehead. After that, she said he put her in the trunk of his car. And, everything went black. Until she came to me, she said, she was hiding and she was afraid he would find her.
Now, this story was very specific, especially since it was told by my two year old child. As fantastic as that story may sound, she actually gave names and places.
Peculiarly, my daughter was also born with a one inch red mark on her forehead, between her eyes, and a mark on her nose! There is also a red mark that covers the bottom part of the back of her head and neck. And, another red mark on her lower back. Each of these birthmarks are located in the places where my little girl was claiming to have been shot in a previous life, except for the mark across the back of her head and neck. However, based on her description of events, those marks would be where the exit wound was from the gunshot to her forehead.
I have since done extensive research to verify her claims. For privacy reasons, I haven’t revealed the actual name of the police officer she named. I have been able to identify a situation where, in fact, a girl named Jessica lost her life. Her case remains unsolved. Coincidentally, it occurred only six months before my daughter was born.
I too have memories of several of my past lives, although I cannot confirm them as I did in my daughters situation. However, it doesn’t make them any less credible, or untrue.
It is unnecessary to search outside of ourselves for the answers that most of us seek. Everything you want to know can be found within yourself. You just have to open your mind and look. It seems as though that is the last place most look.
