Being Psychic: Gift Or Skill?

Visit PsychicAccess.com for a FREE Psychic Reading!Being psychic is both a gift and a skill. The gift to receive psychic messages in the various ways they can manifest is not unlike being gifted to compose music or design architecture, or having a special talent for Olympic sports performance. People are born with many different gifts and abilities.

The skill to excel at interpreting psychic messages, on the other hand, has to be developed through years of practice. This is similar to practicing the skills and techniques required to be an excellent composer or architect, or training towards becoming an Olympic athlete.

Anyone can make up a melody, draw a picture of their dream house or swim in the local community pool. Similarly, anyone can have be intuitive or have a gut feeling about something that eventually comes true. All of us can dream about something before it happens, or have an accurate instinct about the truth or someone we have just met. But not all of us can become composers of symphonies, award-winning architects or Olympic gold medalists. Similarly, not all of us can become true prophets, seers or readers.

Whatever you are by nature, keep to it; never desert your line of talent. Be what nature intended you for and you will succeed – Sydney Smith

I have been psychic since birth, but I was afraid of this unusual gift for many years, because I was taught to be ashamed of it. I did not start practicing the actual skill of being an empathic Tarot card reader until my early 20’s.

It has been a long, long journey for me to learn to trust the messages that come through by way of extra-sensory perception. And, I sincerely hope that I will continue to stay humble enough to pay attention to new things that I can learn about being able to correctly interpret these messages for the higher good of others.

So, although we can be born with the gift of receiving psychic messages, it is in the practicing and developing of our skill to accurately interpret these messages that we can become confident about our talent for divining answers to other people’s questions about the past, the present and the future.

  • I really like your distinction between the gift and skill of psychic ability. It’s an important often overlooked difference that is very important to differentiate. I also loved your analogy to Olympian athletes; really helps paint a clearer picture!

Love the posts Heartlight; keep them coming!
