The Celtic druids observed nature in all its glory and individual properties. They were known in the ancient world as “tree worshippers,” but it was not just the trees that they observed. They were focused on life itself through studying the energy of all living things.
All nature was an oracle to the druids and many of their sacred rites revolved around delving into the spirit world, green healing and divination. Through their observations they were able to pair the personality traits and associations of persons born in a specific month to a sacred tree.
In Celtic Tree Astrology there are thirteen lunar months, as opposed to the twelve zodiac signs in conventional astrology. These thirteen months combine associations with the Solar and Lunar cycles, so that each month and astrological sign is associated with a sacred tree, and each tree has its own personality traits and magical attributes.
